INCCA Update, April 8, 2020

Dear INCCA members and colleagues all over the world,

This year, the start of this new decade, is proving to be a real rollercoaster ride. The COVID-19 pandemic is effecting every aspect of our lives. Social distancing is for some an opportunity to take life a bit slower and spend quality time with family. For others, it is a time of great (financial) uncertainty, fear and loneliness. And for the majority of us, myself included, it is a combination of all of these things and includes a rollercoaster of emotions.

Museums are closed and cultural events have been cancelled which will have a profound negative effect for the sector in the coming time. Thankfully a lot of people are thinking up creative ways of keeping art and culture accessible for the public albeit for the time being in a virtual space. The INCCA website too remains accessible and we encourage members to remain in contact with other liked-minded peers via the site. Let us know in a news item if your museum has an online exhibition at the moment. Post a question you have in the INCCA forum. Browse the publications and video sections of the site.

On behalf of the INCCA Steering Committee I would like to extend our best wishes for you and your loved ones in these trying times. Keep your spirits up and stay safe!
