Overview Modern Art Conservation Science (2001)

Posted on Mon, 09/08/2008 - 12:53

This document is a summary (in the form of a table) of the discussions and contributions that resulted during a meeting at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) in May 2001. The participants explored the situation of needs, current and future planned research in the area of conservation of contemporary art materials with the objective to update our colleagues in the field on what is happening or will soon start in their institutions. The document does not intend to represent the international state of research in these matters but the specific situations in the institutions present in the meeting. We believe this information will be useful to the participants as well as to the conservation science field in general. It would be desirable that it could be updated in the future as result of our interaction in the field with more current information on the situation in other institutions and research centres worldwide.
