An exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of contemporary art conservation, leading Tate's Sculpture and Installation conservation team.

Tate's growing collection of Sculpture and Installation artworks presents unique challenges for conservation and preservation, requiring innovative solutions. You will lead the team's response to evolving artistic practices and formulate a preservation strategy for the historic, modern and contemporary art works in our care.

Tate's Conservation department brings excellence to the care of all Tate’s collections. As a member of the Conservation Management Team, you will work with the Head of Conservation in the strategic planning and leadership of the department. You will co-ordinate the delivery of Tate’s public programme and be responsible for the operational planning, management and development of a team of specialists.

You will lead the development of the conservation specialisms within the Sculpture and Installation team, supporting research and enhancing practice in standards of care and furthering the international profile of the team.

To be successful in the role, you will have a museum or gallery background with a professional qualification in Conservation and experience within your specialism. You will be an experienced manager, with a track record in leading and developing teams and embedding a collaborative and high performing culture. Your excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills will enable you to effectively manage people, budgets and resources effectively.

Salary: £34,680 per annum
