Call for Papers for the Electronic Media Group American Institute for Conservation (AIC)
36th Annual Meeting April 21-24, 2008
Denver, Colorado

The Electronic Media Group (EMG) would like to invite papers on digitization and digital documentation for the 2008 AIC Annual Meeting in Denver, CO.

In sticking with the general theme of Collaboration, EMG will collaborate with the Book and Paper Group on issues related to digitization and digital documentation.

In addition, as a complement the AIC Documentation Task Force's plans to present their summary guidelines on treatment documentation using digital photography, EMG is encouraging papers addressing digital documentation with a focus on the private conservator and small institutions.
This may include: digital file storage systems; the use of metadata; experiences with digital asset management software; and digital photography workflow to name a few. As many of us are still very
unfamiliar with these topics; therefore, the goal is to cut through the jargon and to provide a forum for practicle solutions.

Of course, papers on all aspects of electronic media conservation are always welcome.

Please send your ideas and abstracts to: Gawain Weaver, EMG Program Chair,
(718) 666-6251.
Deadline for submissions is August 15th 2007.
