The document is a transcript from a panel discussion televised in January 1970 on the topic: 'Art vs Anti-Art, provocation:elemental life form of society'. The panelists are: Professor and Artist Joseph Beuys, Professor Max Bense (German Philosopher), Professor Arnold Gehlen (Art History, Social scientist) and Professor Max Bill (Swiss designer, artist, architect). Apart from the discussion covering many relevant questions and definitions concerning art, modern Art and the role of Art, Joseph Beuys himself provides insights into his practice, his concepts underlying 'social sculpture', Thinking as 'Plastik' and the use of fat in his art. (Youtube) The debate is in German and translated by myself into English subtitles (not available). I transcribed these into the 22 pages document after the subtitles didn't become available.
