Workshop impregnating PUR flexible foams
Conservation treatments on plastic works of art are nowadays still in an early stage. Experiments on coating and consolidation of plastic artefacts were performed as laboratory tests and can now be taught to conservators.
In this workshop objects will be treated using mechanical, aqueous and organic solvent cleaning. After cleaning, consolidating treatments will be practised on flexible PUR foams and polyester objects. Making moulds and polyester and polyurethane rubber objects will be part of the practical work.
