Marina Pugliese is curator of collections at the Museo del Novecento (Civic Museum of Contemporary Art) in Milan. She is a trained art historian and restorer specializing in contemporary art. The museum collections include works of Italian masters of the 20th century from Futurism till nowadays.
She started at the museum in 2000 where she studied techniques of various artists and initiated a research project based on interviews with artists on techniques and problems of conservation. Part of this research was published in Tecnica Mista, Materiali e procedimenti nell'arte del XX secolo (Mixed Media, Materials and Procedures in 20th century art), Bruno Mondadori, Milano 2006.
Marina is coordinator of the INCCA Italy group and said the following when the group was launched in December 2007:
'The birth of INCCA Italy helps to connect us with the rest of Europe and facilitates the possibility to give our contributions to the international debate on conservation. INCCA supports our projects as a communication platform and helps us in finding resources to realize them.'
