Jonathan studied History of Art at Cambridge University, and then spent several years working for various galleries, artists, and photographers in London. He now an as artist, working with digital media, and is currently also working part-time at the department of Sculpture Conservation, based at Tate Britain. His primary tasks are to liaise with conservators and curators to compose questionnaires which are sent out to artists, and help to prepare more in-depth interviews which are carried out in person and usually recorded on digital audio format (iPod) and transcribed. Interviews are often prompted by new acquisitions and generally seek to clarify the nature of the materials used, establish preferred display conditions, and register artists' attitudes towards conservation treatment.
